Ingredients

  • 4 - cups Suji (semolina)
  • 3.5 - cups Sugar
  • 1 - freshly grated Coconut
  • 1.5 - katori Ghee
  • 1.5 - katori water
  • pinch of elaichi powder
  • thinly sliced almonds, pista, cashews Raisins

METHOD

  1. Take ghee in a pan and add suji to it.
  2. Roast on a low flame till pink.
  3. Add the grated coconut to it and roast for another 2-3 mins.
  4. In a separate vessel, put the water and add sugar to it.
  5. Boil till sugar melts and forms a sticky solution (chashni).
  6. Once it's done, turn off the gas and immediately add the suji-coconut mix to it.
  7. Now, add elaichi powder and sliced nuts and raisins to it.
  8. Mix well and keep stirring at regular intervals till it reaches a semi-solid state.
  9. It takes 2-3 hours to reach a state where you can make laddoos of the mix.
  10. Once the proper state is reached, make the laddoos.
  11. Alternately, you can also roll out the mix in a greased plate and cut into square pieces once its set.
