''Horsley Hills is a famous Hill Station in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh at a distance of 144 Kms from Tirupati, 56 Kms from Madanapalle and 460 Kms from Hyderabad. It is named after W.D. Horsley, the Collector of Cuddapah district, who chose this spot for his summer residence.
Situated at an altitude of 1265 meters, Horsley Hills is an exciting place to visit. The journey to Horsley Hills is exciting as one gets to see thick verdure of various species of plants and wild animals.

Covering the entire stretch of narrow road are dense growth of Eucalyptus, Jacaranda, Allamanda, Gulmohar and many other species. The old name of Horsley Hills is Eenugu Mallamma Konda. According to the legend there used to be a little girl named Mallamma who was taken care by Elephants. She used to heal tribal people on the hills. When she disappeared suddenly, people thought she was a goddess and built a temple for her.
The fragrance of Sampangi flowers mesmerizes the tourists even after they leave this place. One can find a wide variety of flowers in these hills ranging from Reeta, Shikakai, Amla, Beedi leaves, Bay leaves, Sandalwood, gum, Mahogany to Bamboo. Wildlife like bears, wild dogs, jungle fowl, sambars and panthers are also sheltered in the forest here.

Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary - Located at Palamaner some 87 Km away from Horsley Hills that act as the starting point for the sanctuary which also is an elephant reserve, the place is full of versatility that is attributed to pristine Nature.

CLIMATE
Cold winters that become cooler at nights and pleasant summers are the trademark of the place making it pleasurable at all times of the year. From March to May the temperature ranges between 20° to 30° C. Monsoons are heavy maintain a notch cooler temperature. Winters, on the other hands are between 12° to 25°C which makes months from December to January a great time to make a visit.

Air: Visitors preferring air travel can come either to airport at Tirupati or at Bangalore which are at distance of 160 and 165 Km respectively from Horsey Hills for which taxis could be hired.
Rail: A railway station at Madanapalle Road brings the tourists closest to the Horsley hills, only 43 Km from here.
Road: Out of various routes to Horsley Hills from Bangalore, one can choose depending upon the traffic, mood of weather, etc, especially in own vehicles. All of these routes inadvertently bring to Madanapalle.
