Tajul Masjid
Tajul Masjid was originally built in 1877 by Bhopal’s third female ruler Shah Jahan Begum. She wanted to create the largest mosque in the whole world and therefore built this one. However due to less funds, the construction was stopped in 1901 and it could only be resumed in 1971. Thus it took almost hundred years to complete this mosque what we see as of today. It is one of the largest mosques in the country.

State Museum
The state museum is located in Shamla Hills of Bhopal. The museum remains open on all days except Mondays and one has to buy the ticket. Additional charges have to be paid if you are carrying a camera inside. The museum contains some wonderful sculptures of the past and also the various historical events in the Madhya Pradesh. There are a number of art works that you will find here that have been created by the fine artists.

Bharat Bhavan Art Gallery is one fine place to visit in Bhopal for those who are interested in arts. There are ticket counters just outside the gallery where you will have to get the entry tickets. The art gallery contains numerous carvings, paintings, texts and many private contemporary art galleries. There is also a café inside where evening performances are conducted every day at 7 pm. Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya
This museum is located in the Shamla Hills area of Bhopal. It is opened on all days and the admission charges are Rs.10 per person. Additional 50 rupees are charged if you want to do video recording. This gives you the opportunity to explore more than 450 tribes of India without actually visiting the tribal areas. There are various art works that have been created by the tribal people are there to see. The whole area is widely spread on the hill and the actual museum is located at the hilltop. There are quite a number of things to do while visiting here. Not just for the artists but for a common person who wants to explore the authentic colors of India, this is just the perfect place to visit. While in Bhopal, not visiting this extraordinary museum could be a mistake.

Sonagiri (Jain temple)
The Sonagiri Jain Temples are located at a distance of 60 kms away from the main city of Bhopal, in the Golden top, Sonagiri. This is a very fine collection of many intricate carved temples all of which date back from the 9th and 10th century. All of these temples are believed to be very sacred for the Digambar Jain community. It is believed that this was the very place where King Nanganag Kumar had achieved liberation from the cycle of death and life, along with fifteen million followers.
