PLACES AROUND MUTHERAN
Charlotte Lake - It's the only water source atop Matheran nad it provides water to entire Matheran. It has beautiful scenery and greenery. On the left is Pisarnath Temple, Echo Point, Louisa Point are on the right side of it.
King George Point - King George Point provides an amazing view of the gorgeous waterfall that takes shape when the Charlotte Lake overflows.
Echo Point - It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Matheran that is frequently thronged by the love buds.
Panorama Point - It is well known as a panoramic point because it provides a panoramic sight of the Sahyadri Ranges. This is also popular as the Sunrise Point. The tourists can get a wonderful chance to get a majestic view of the Neral town on the east and Panvel city on the west. The place is also ideal for picnic and spending some memorable time with the family members.
Shivaji's Ladder - As the name clearly indicates with the steps resemble like that of a ladder, it is the passage to the stunning Matheran Valley. While climbing the ladder, the tourists are hypnotized by the lush green forests and chilly winds.
Louisa Point - It gives a close and frontal view of the waterfall seen from the King George Point.
Prabal Fort - Prabal Fort is one of the major attractions of Matheran and catches the attention of travelers. The fort was captured by Chathrapathi Shivaji from the Mughals. The Fort is presently in ruins and is located at the flat top of the hill named Prabhal. There were two gateways and eleven towers in the fortifications and in 1818 the gateways were destroyed.
