Kanger Ghati National Park is well approachable from district head quarter Jagadalpur[Bastar]. It is 27 km. from the Jagadalpur on the Jagadalpur - Konta road. There is another approach, 33 km. via Jagadalpur - Sargipal - Jatam - Nianar - Bodal netanar road. North boundary of the National Park is marked by village Netanar, Milkulwada and Nangalsar.
The vegetation in park area is mixed moist deciduous type. The national Park is situated on the valley of river Kanger. The valley is in fact one of the last pockets of almost virgin forests still left in the southern C.G. Kanger valley is about 24 km.
