Mrigavani National Park

'' The Mrigavani National Park is located 25 km from Hyderabad in Chilkur and is the perfect place if one wants to relax in the lap of nature amidst wildlife. About 150 camps are organized annually by the Forest Department from July to February to educate students on eco-diversity and ecology. The Park was initiated in 1994 near the Himayatsagar Lake. ''

The park is also house of different species (around 20 species) of animals, which includes cheetah, civet cat, forest cat, hare, mongoose, porcupine, sambar, and wild boar. Around 115 species of birds (including Babblers, Curlews, Ducks, Flower Peckers, Lapwings, Peacocks, Partridges, Quails, and Warblers) are seen in this park. It also comprises of about 20 species of butterflies and many hundred species of insects and worms. The Park can be visited at any time of the year as the weather is pleasant all throughout. For accommodation there are cottage facilities which can be rented and need to be booked in advance.

The park harbors over 600 plant species ranging from bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Climbers, Herbs, Shrubs and Trees. The vegetative cover presents a mosaic of woodland and grasslands. Prominent trees are Teak, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Neem, Bamboo, etc. You can find a large number of spices such as Sambar, Cheetal, Wild Boar, Porcupine, Hare, Forest Cat, Civet Cat, Mongoose, Peacocks, Warblers, Babblers, Flower Peckers, Partridges, Lapwings, Ducks,
