'' Nehru Zoological Park was inaugurated on 26 October 1959 and got developed as Modern Zoo with a complete natural environment. The park covers around 300 acres of land with greenery which gives you the feeling of natural forest. It is 16 kilometres away from the city of Hyderabad and is situated in Bahadurpura area on the way to the N G Ranga Agricultural University in Rajendranagar. It is one of the biggest zoos in the country as well as in Asia. Nehru Zoological Park have around 1,500 species. Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad is popularly known as the Hyderabad Zoo. Named after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the zoo is an attraction of the city since it was established and opened to public in 1963.

The Nehru Zoological Park is open between 8.30 am and 5 pm on all days except Monday. The entry fee to the park is very nominal.
