'' Tadoba Tiger Reserve is part of the Chandrapur District and an important tourism destination in Maharashtra. The reserve is named after Taru King who is supposed to have killed a tiger single handedly. A shrine dedicated to Taru is situated at the Tadoba Lake within the reserve confines. A fair is held every year between December and January attended by Adivasis. The Gond Fort at Chandrapur stands testimony to the rule of the tribals.
