Rasiya recipe jaggery kheer is one of the most favorite dessert in Bihar . When kheer made with jaggery / gud its called rasiya . It is very simple and easy desserts . Bakhlr or Rasiya is rice cooked in gud and water .

Recipe Type Veg.

Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice – 2 cups
  • Gur / jaggery – 1 cup
  • watet – 4 cups
  • cardamom – 4
  • cloves – 2
  • coconut cut in slice – 1/4 cup
  • ghee – 1/2 cup
  • Nuts – as per need

Preparation:

Recipe Rasiya or Jaggery Kheer
  1. Take jaggery an 4 cups of water and let it boil. Then strain jaggery water and set aside.
  2. In a pot add ghee/ clarified butter , clove and cardamom, let it crackle and then pour jaggery water in it.
  3. Let it boil again and then add Soaked basmati rice. (soak rice for 20-25 mins)
  4. Check the sweetness , if you want to add more sweetness then add granulated sugar in it.
  5. You can add more water if feel rice are not cooked yet.
  6. Before simmering add coconut an raisins in it.
  7. Let it simmer for 10 minutes and serve.
  8. Different color of Rice is due to different colors of Jaggery or Shakar.
