There are some steps to control Headache
This is still an imperfectly diagnosed ailment, caused by various reasons. It may be a temporary discomfort or the symptom of more serious disease, which requires expert treatment. Common cold, sinus infectgion, eyestrain and even weather conditions can cause headaches. If it is not severe and persistent, simple treatments may give relief. If, however, the headache is due to over-exposure to the hot sun or from staying in hot and stuffy rooms or due to lack of sleep, etc, the following measures may help.
Take a bath in cold water and stay in a well-ventilated place.
Apply a paste of sandalwood all over the forehead, rather like a compress.
Place a pad of wet cloth on the forehead, or a cloth soaked in vinegar.
If the headache is due to some infection, as in the case of influenza, sinusitis, etc, the following remedies may be tried.
Smear the juice of tulasi (basil) leaves on the forehead two or three times a day.
Prepare paste with the leaves of Leucas aspera and smear it on the forehead.
Apply a paste made of coriander leaves or Mentha piperita on the forehead.
Prepare paste of dry ginger and black pepper in milk, and apply this on the forehead.
Prepare a paste of garlic (3-4 pods, about 5 gm), mix it with milk, and add a few grains of salt. Apply the resultant paste on the forehead till it dries up or give relief.
