A short Intro:

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas conferences began in 2003. It is generally held around January 9 every year to remember Mahatma Gandhi’s return to India from South Africa to lead the Indian freedom struggle. The main objective of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian community towards their homeland India. PBD also provides a platform to engage Overseas Indians, Government, and people of India.

The focus point:

Today it started with the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas which had its prime motive of engaging Indian youth diaspora from all over the world. It was a wonderful platform where Indian youth from all over the world actively engage and discussed for the betterment of India.

There were mixed discussions and one of the interesting questions raised by NRI youth was whether the NRI students have a good platform for opportunities to continue their education in India? The ministers responded to it positively.

But is there really a good platform of opportunities available? It is well known that higher education standards in India is not that good. And things have to be improved in the higher education arena to welcome NRI’s as well as foreign students. There are few options to make higher education in India a step ahead.

1. The Indian faculties must be given great exposure to western trends of technology.
2. The Opportunites for employment after the graduation must be wide-ranging.
3. There must be a unique specialization Course and it should be the best in comparison with what other countries offer.
4. The Research & Development facilities must be enhanced in India so that the universities would gear up and naturally the education quality will shoot higher.
5. The tolerance level should be higher to accommodate and provide a better atmosphere to the foreign scholars.

It is sure that India is getting younger with few initiatives and responsibilities taken by youngsters. If all things are proper and if the Indian youths have a healthy mindset, then we are progressing towards the dream of Young India-2022.
