Aloo hing serves as a perfect side dish for pooris.
Ingredients
- 2-3 boiled potatoes
- 1 ½ tsp roasted jeera
- 1 ½ tsp roasted Dhania (whole)
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 2 roasted dried red chillies
- ½ tsp hing
- ½ tsp ginger paste
- 1 glass of water for cooking
- Oil
- Salt to taste
Procedure:
Cut the boiled potatoes into medium sized pieces. Now heat some oil in pan. Add the potatoes and the ginger paste and mix thoroughly. In meanwhile, put the whole masalas (jeera, dhania and red chillies) in a small mixer jar and coarsely grind them.
Now, add some turmeric to the potatoes and the freshly grinded masala. Mix well and then add ½ tsp hing and salt to taste.
Add water and cook until the masala mixes well with it. Stir this mixture well and cook until the water reduces to almost half and the oil starts floating on the surface.
