Mussoorie also has the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, the premier training institute for officers of the Indian Administrative Service (I.A.S) and other civil services. This unique institute is located about 2 km from Gandhi Chowk.

Best season to go Mussoorie is March to June and September to November. Summers are the best times to have trekking, rock climbing and camping.

Mussoorie Lake - Mussoorie Lake is ( 6 km ) from Mussoorie. This is a newly built picnic spot. It has Boating facility for the tourists. The Mussoorie Lake provides an awesome view of the Doon Valley.
Childer's Lodge - Childer's Lodge is approx ( 6 km ) from Mussoorie. It is an ideal picnic spot and also offers breathtaking views of the Doon Valley.
Bhatta Falls - The Bhatta Falls is at a distance of ( 7 kms ) from Mussoorie + 3kms walk from Bhatta Village. The fall has different ponds for bathing and water amusements. It is an ideal place for picnic and also provides a breathtaking view of the valley.
Jharipani Fall - The Jharipani Falls is at a distance of ( 8.5 kms ) from Mussoorie + 1.5 kms walk from Jharipani. Good Picnic Spot.
Mossy Fall - The Mossy fall is ( 7 kms ) from Mussoorie and is surrounded by a thick dense rhodedenum forest. It is a Good and peaceful picnic spot for the tourist to visit to.
CLIMATE
Mussoorie is pleasant in summers with day temperatures hovering around 30° C and nights getting chilly. Winter brings snowfall and rain, especially in December. Night temperatures dip down to near zero and days are cold at about 7° C. Mussoorie gets monsoon showers between June and September.
