Palaruvi Falls, the horsetail type waterfall is located in Thenmala in the district of Kollam in Kerala, India, on Kerala's border with the state of Tamil Nadu. Palaruvi comes from Malayalam words Pal meaning milk and Aruvi signifying falls, i.e "stream of milk".
The water from this falls is believed to have medicinal properties that are able to prevent several diseases because it comes from the forest. Ayurvedic physicians advise their patients to take a dip in this water. The Thenmala ranges offer an adventurous spot for the tourists. People can do trekking from here. It is a great experience and is equally refreshing.
