Indian pavilion wins "Best Pavilion” title at Dubai Global Village
The pavilion representing India has won the award for the “Best Pavilion” award for this season’s Dubai Global Village which concluded last week.
In the race of “Best Pavilion” title, Indian pavilion beat out Morrocco, Egypt, USA and UAE pavilions.
The Indian pavilion also won the award for “Best Pavilion Cultural Show”.
Global Village, the region’s leading family destination for cultural entertainment and shopping, hosted the awards ceremony to celebrate the end of its most successful season to date.
Several key figures who contributed to the success of Global Village over the years were in attendance at the ceremony.
With more than 300 stalls, the Indian pavilion exhibited the most authentic Indian products varying from cotton, silk, chiffon fabrics to traditional leather made sandals, handbags, wallets and accessories.
Indian carpet exhibitors were also present to express Indian forms and shapes of hand-woven natural silk and fleece, jewelry, cloths and home accessories.
Last year, the Indian Pavilion had won the award for “Best Organized Concert” for hosting Shreya Ghoshal concert which attracted tens of thousands of Bollywood fans.
Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented the awards at the gala dinner.
Ahmad Hussain Bin Eissa, CEO of Global Village noted that this year represented the “biggest and most successful season” in the history of Global Village.
He said that 5.6 million guests visited the park over 159 days.
“Hoping to see you again for our 22nd season,” Bin Eissa said.
