Hema Malini is basically from Tamil Nadu. She is born to an Iyenger family and her mother was a film producer. This opened her way into movies. She made her debut in 1960 with a Tamil movie and later gained popularity in Hindi movies. She is better known as the dream girl in Bollywood.

Rekha

Rekha is born in Chennai to the famous Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan and Telugu actress Pushpavalli. She just followed her father’s footsteps and gained popularity in movies. She considers herself as a Telugu. She started off her filmy career initially to support her family. She made her debut as a child artist for a Telugu movie and later on as a heroine with a Kannada movie. Later, she gained popularity in Hindi as well.

Sridevi

Sridevi is again a Tamilian by birth, born in Sivakasi to a Telugu mother and Tamil father. She started off her career as a child artist at the age of four in aTamil movie. She has acted in many Telugu and Malayalam movies also. She is now married to producer Boney Kapoor.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai was to a Bunt family in Mangalore, who later moved to Mumbai, where she did her schooling and later jumped into modeling. She gained recognition with her Pepsi ad with Aamir Khan. She is married to Abhishek Bachchan.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika padukone is yet another Bolllywood beauty from the South. She is born to a Konkani speaking family and her father is a famous badminton player. Though born in Denmark, Deepika and her family got relocated to Bangalore when she was a year old. She is mow one of the most sort after actresses in Bollywood.

Asin Thottumkal

Asin Thottumkal hails from Gods Own Country Kerala. She started off her career in Malayalam movies but, failed to create an impression then. She flourished with her performances in Tamil movies which later paved way for her entry into other South Indian languages as well as in Hindi. Her Tamil movie Ghajini paved her way into Hindi films.

Shweta Menon

Shweta Menon is the runner up at the 1995 beauty contest, ranking third after Sushmitha Sen and Aishwarya Rai. She has made her entry into Hindi movies right from her modeling and was seen in many movies. Later, she moved to her mother tongue Malayalam and is still continuing it.
